Built by analysts, for analysts.
OSINT R. is an independently maintained index of open-source intelligence tools. We started it because we needed it — and it turns out, so did a lot of other people.
In 2022 we were maintaining a shared spreadsheet of OSINT tools for our newsroom. By the second year it had 800 rows, four contributors, and no way to search it. We rebuilt it as a public site so other teams could stop reinventing the same spreadsheet — and OSINT R. was born.
Today the index contains thousands of tools across dozens of categories, reviewed by a small editorial team and a much larger community of contributors. Everything is free to browse. Nothing is behind a paywall. Nothing is scraped without attribution.
What we believe
Every tool is reviewed by a human before it appears. We'd rather list thousands of useful tools than 50,000 stubs.
Submissions, corrections and cheatsheets come from working analysts around the world — credited, not scraped.
We publish workflows, not just links. A tool without a technique is trivia.
The index is free to browse forever. Public data belongs to the public.
